The “Bass Player” for High-Stakes Governance

In any great performance, you don’t notice the bass player until the rhythm stops. That is when the melody collapses. In the corporate boardroom, I provide that foundational rhythm—the steady, reliable synchronization of law, risk management, and data integrity that allows the executive team to scale with confidence.
I am a “Technocrat” with a 50-year track record of navigating complex institutional crises and building systems where none existed. My career has been defined by a commitment to the “ground truth,” whether that truth is buried in a siloed federal bureaucracy, an endangered species lurking in the center of a proposed mall parking lot or a modern 500,000-record data tape.
What I Bring to the Boardroom:
Computational Fiduciary Oversight: I don’t just read the audit; I audit the code. Using Julia, R, and Python, I perform forensic analyses on “black box” risks—from RMBS materiality to public policy modeling.
Institutional Transformation: I have a history of rescuing organizations from technical and financial disarray, most notably moving a $1B Alaskan fishing port from “oral tradition” governance to a modern mini-mainframe infrastructure.
Multidisciplinary Risk Detection: I bridge the gaps between legal, environmental, and civil engineering silos. I am the director who finds the “concrete bathtub” engineering flaw or the endangered habitat before they become catastrophic liabilities.
Systems Stewardship: From managing $500B SEC shelf registrations at JPMorgan to mapping 973 miles of Mississippi River infrastructure, I excel at extracting actionable clarity from massive, complex bureaucracies.
I am currently seeking Board of Director appointments where my dual-domain expertise in securities law and computational science can support the Audit, Risk, or Technology committees.
